We need volunteers to make this event run smooth!
Come be a part of the excitement and join the community.
email me at: [email protected] with "Hill Climb Volunteer" in the subject if you are interested.
Volunteer meeting will be at the Columbia Hotel at 7 pm on June 5th (Thurs). Food will be provided. Come meet the other volunteers and we'll be doing a rundown of the volunteer roles and answer any questions.
Example volunteer roles:
Certified Flagger: We need at least 4 certified flaggers to man the road blocks during the race. The roads will be closed from 6:15 am to 8:30 am. If you're able to help afterwards, you'll have time to drive up to the lodge and see the participants again.
Aid Station: We have 5 aid stations where we hand out gels, fruit, snacks, water, etc. You'll need to drive up with an EZ up, tables, water and set up. Minimum 2 folks. Ideally 4+ folks per aid station.
Start line/day of bib pick up: Help hand out bibs, tell racers where to line up, set up start line, tables, etc.
Finish line: Record times, hike gear up to the top? (if there is too much snow on the access road), help racers recover and get back down the hill, give out water, food, etc.
Lodge set up: Man the results board, help set up the taiko drummers, the musicians, snacks, etc. Set up and clean up
Course sweep: Sweep the course to make sure we aren't missing anyone.
For your efforts, you'll get a race shirt, food, and whatever swag we've got!
